We are pleased to announce that we have far exceeded a 3000 plus inventory of specialist industrial access hardware for electrical enclosures, cabinets, electronic racks, control panels, HVAC equipment, lockers/furniture, amusement machines, retail displays, telephone and vehicle security.

Our Panel Fittings range now features locks of many types from quarter-turn through compression locks/latches and combination to pin tumbler, padlocks and rod locks. Standard handle types are catered for, including grab handles, T, L, swinghandles and winghandles. Many items are available in stainless steel 303, 304 or 316, making them suitable for use in chemical, food processing or marine situations where corrosion resistance, coupled to rugged performance are critical factors.

We have been leading specialists in the panel hardware arena for over 30 years and pride ourselves on providing “The Full Package”. As Terry Cantle explained: “We work hard to ensure that we provide real added value – not only with our product, but also by consulting closely with customers in order to provide a proven and reliable single source. We not only ensure specifications are met, but also that costs are minimised.”

Alongside locks and handles the natural complement is a standard range of hinges which in this case provides a huge selection of internal, external, lift-off, piano, weld-on, bolt-on and clip-in types – again with stainless steel variants if required. The innovative D-SNAP technology for tool-less panel joining and hardware fitment parallels traditional technologies with the added potential to save costs and time.

New Rocfast toggle latches

The Rocfast brand here at FDB is expanding with this comprehensive range of toggle latches – or over-centre catches as they are sometimes called. These toggle latches have the advantage of being “quick release” but with the added benefit of not extending into the case or equipment being fastened.

The new range offers the user a wide choice to suit most industrial applications; for everything from simple containers, tool boxes, industrial canisters, banding and cladding applications, to sophisticated medical and marine equipment.

Rocfast toggle latches are manufactured from either cold rolled steel or stainless steel, and feature many options including adjustable, vibration proof models to provide gasket pull up, key lockable and padlockable types and some with a secondary locking feature to prevent accidental unlocking.

Naturally they are complemented by a wide variety of matching strike plates as well as straight or curved links, while integral springs are also available on selected styles for their anti-vibration characteristics. Contact us for details or to order.

Gasket sealing profiles – we’ve got the lot!

One of the most important issues for enclosure manufacturers is the question of gasket sealing – what profile to choose, how to accommodate it and what sort of ingress protection does it provide? At FDB Panel Fittings we have assembled a range of specialist products from simple closed cell rectangular rubber foam strips in natural rubber or neoprene, through window gaskets in EPDM, up to grooved clip-on profiles with hollow section. Special sections are available to suit EMI/RFI requirements in EPDM with an additional Cu/Sn fleece to provide the necessary conductivity.

Rectangular section foam profiles feature closed cells with low absorption and quick fit self-adhesive backing, while clip-on gasket sections incorporate a metal spine to grip the door flange. Others are designed for easy insertion into a channel with moulded lips to aid retention in use. Some gasket profiles are especially suited to applications requiring internal pressure either higher or lower than the external environment.

These industrial sections exhibit excellent resistance to industrial/external conditions including weathering. Use of the FDB gasket radius fillet also ensures tidy sealing of square corners when using clip-fit sections.

Gasket lengths, together with locks, hinges and other accessories may be supplied under the Rocfast program as consolidated production packs to original equipment manufacturers.

The ubiquitous grab handle – one idea – many styles

Our extensive range of grab handles incorporates many different approaches – from factory equipment utility through office furniture to rugged domestic, in sizes that cover finger pulls and dish handles to low cost plastic bridge handles or robust chrome/steel.

Finger pulls and dish handles are compact solutions to low force requirements where a larger component would be out of place such as in the computer industry, 19” technology cabinets etc. Plastic bridge handles in the FDB range feature both low cost polypropylene and high grade polyamide materials in designs for front or rear mounting, with/without cosmetic snap-in covers. Steel based handles for more rugged applications are available with resilient elastomer cover for manual comfort. Chrome finished items provide stylish appearance, with black oxide finish also available. Industry standard sizes are available.

Grab handles, together with other components, may be ordered for supply in production packs under the Rocfast packaging/assembly service as a consolidated program.

FDB Handles We now have well over 100 standard handles available in a wide range of styles and materials and can manufacture to any specification, in any material, to any finish and deliver in Rocfast production packs to simplify your logistics and save you time and money in assembly or installation. For portable equipment and vehicular applications there is a range of robust, moulded grab rails and handles with integral steel cores and attractive textured finish, while lightweight polyamide handles with external or concealed fixings are ideal for portable equipment, floor safes and access panels – and are readily available from stock.

The grab ( or bridge ) handle range includes finger pulls for light duty or restricted space applications while the locking and swinghandle ranges also cover wing handles and padlockables with varients available in stainless steel and in D-SNAP technology.

Rocfast lock assembly service

The Rocfast program is a new service which we expect to save time, money and mistakes by offering quality locks assembled and delivered direct from our Panel Fittings experts here at FDB – including all major market leading industry brands. The Rocfast lock assembly service is designed to take the hard work out of an order process that often requires specification of individual lock components and time consuming self-assembly prior to installation. Our expert team will rapidly identify the optimum specification of components then order, assemble and deliver to site, to workshop or to metal former/subcontractor in line with our theme of providing “Panel Fittings for every Enclosure”.

The Rocfast service includes all ¼ turn favourites with appropriate keys, with IP rated sealing if required, with cams of all types, traditional L or T handles, swinghandles and compression locks as applicable. The Rocfast assembly program can efficiently deal with modern modular component systems or traditional single kit formats and with one-off or scheduled program deliveries as well as separate packaging of locks/backnuts/keys etc to suit logistical requirements.
